The Camp Site is owned and maintained by Gordon Area Council, with a lot of help from Scouting folks. It is 350 metres North of the village of Daviot at Map Reference NJ747288 Ordinance Survey Map No.

There are 9 acres of rough woodland with 8 Patrol sites, complete with wooden dining shelters. A level area of approximately 30 square metres, which is used for games or as a parade ground. There is also a Parade Ground with a flag pole, a 'tiered' camp fire circle and open air chapel in a small copse.

Enclosed within the site boundary is 'Loanhead Stone Circle' - a stone circle dating back to prehistoric times. As the area containing the  monument is owned by Historic Scotland, camping is not permitted and turf cannot be cut. It can be used for games!! There are onsite facilities, but no telephone the nearest public phone in the village of Daviot.
